“The Righteous Few” are: Pippa Hall, John Henderson, Phyllis Robbins, Walter Robbins
Pippa Hall and John Henderson have been playing as a duo for many years with a wide and varied repertoire of traditional and topical folk music from both sides of the Atlantic. Their unique blend of voices, whether a capella or accompanied by guitar, banjo, or mountain dulcimer, has entertained audiences at club and festival venues in Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan.
Walt Robbins is a classically-trained violinist who discovered the fun of fiddlin' some forty years ago and has been sawing away on old-time mountain music and traditional Quebec tunes ever since. As well, he joins the others, singing bass on some of their tight vocals. Phyl Robbins has been singing and playing autoharp and rhythm guitar since high school days. A collector of humorous and "quirky" songs, she is the author of two children's songbooks.
Together as "The Righteous Few," these four musicians provide an eclectic mix of old time and traditional style songs and tunes, gospel harmonies, and some toe-tapping Appalachian clogging.
