July 27-29, 2007 event

SATURDAY

This year's musical smorgasbord is as varied as ever. From the folk genre, some legendary Canadian singer/songwriters will be featured: Newfoundland's award winning troubadour, Ron Hynes; finger-style guitarist extraordinaire, Terry Tufts and Chris Rawlings, whose repertoire brings both Canadian and Québeçois folk styles to life. Another folk artist is Isabelle Delage, whose original compositions and mellow vocals will enchant the audience. The rich folk sounds of The Bridge End Dairy Company will also be heard and rounding out the folk menu is Bruce Murdoch, of Greenwich Village fame, who is returning to his folk roots with a talent undiminished through the years. The Fat Tuesday Brass Band will be adding their New Orleans joie de vivre sound to the mix. Celtic music will be well represented this year by Kitchen Party, an exciting group who has toured Scotland to rave reviews, and by the duo Osmosaic, who return with their haunting blend of Celtic and folk. Chris Crilly and Christian Laurence will be performing a pleasing mélange of the Celtic and Québeçois music styles. Swift Years are back with their repertoire of gypsy melodies, fiddle tunes and folk ballads presented with a bluegrass flavour. As always the festival will have a powerful bluegrass line up including the Road Scholars' strong string ensemble with layered harmonies, Yonder Hill's trio of gifted vocalists backed by their amazing musicians, and finally Little Brown Jug's Appalachian style fiddle tunes and ballads.

SUNDAY

The Boll Weevil Acoustic Band opens with those Delta Blues and will be followed by the mellow, soulful vocals of the Biz Oliver Trio. Taking you back to the roots of the blues will be the famed Dan Livingstone Trio. Get ready for some "good 'ol finger snappin', toe tappin' blues" when award winning blues artists Dale Boyle and Kevin Mark deliver an acoustic blues set. For the finale, Kevin will join Dale Boyle and the Barburners for an hour of scintillating electric blues. Sunday's show is not to be missed. Festival-goers will be talking about this one for years to come.
