Rasputin's

Pippa Hall and John Henderson have been playing as a duo for many years with a wide and varied repertoire of traditional and topical folk music from both sides of the Atlantic. Their unique blend of voices, whether a capella or accompanied by guitar, banjo, or mountain dulcimer, has entertained audiences at club and festival venues in Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan, providing an eclectic mix of traditional style and contemporary folk songs, gospel harmonies, and some toe-tapping Appalachian clogging.

Past appearances have included the Haskel Opera House (Rock Island, Quebec), Centennial Auditorium at Bishop's University, Regina Folk Festival, Saskatoon Folk Club and Festival, Bookstore Café (East Cambden), Rasputin's Folk Café (Ottawa), Army Navy & Air Force Club (Carleton Place), Osgoode Pioneer Days, The Yellow Canoe (Merrickville), Amanda's Slip (Kemptville), The Upstage Theatre in Westport, and The Good Food Co. (Carleton Place).

Their sojourns have also taken them to parts of Europe and the eastern United States as part of the Vermont based a capella group, Bayley-Hazen Singers, performing early American and Balkan music, and more recently by joining with musical friends to form "string band" type groups in Quebec and Ontario.

As a duo, their song style ranges from traditional ballads and gospel like "Southwind", "Down in the River" and "Rock of Ages", to folk revival like Paxton's "Last Thing on my Mind" and Jean Ritchie's "Blue Diamond Mine", and more contemporary topical songs like Linda Griffith's "A Hard Life Wherever You Go" and Si Kahn's "Aragon Mill". Their CD, entitled "Then 'til Now", released in late 2005, reflects the variation of themes and intimate connection with the music found in their live performances.
