Andrea Beaton and Buddy MacDonald from
CAPE BRETON LIVE "ON TOUR"
Wednesday March 12, 2008, 8:00 pm

Almonte Celtfest 2008 is pleased to host a pre St Paddy's Day special concert on Wednesday, March 12, 8:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion, Almonte Upper Hall.

The concert features one of Cape Breton's most promising young fiddlers, Andrea Beaton, a member of the outstanding Cape Breton Live On Tour troupe who thrilled Almonte audiences in 2 sold shows in 2006. Andrea at 29 is the youngest of generations of Beaton musicians. Her father, Kinnon, is one of today's most influential Cape Breton fiddlers, her mother, Betty Beaton, is one of the great piano accompanists of her generation. Her uncle, Buddy MacMaster, is the most revered fiddler on Cape Breton island. Her cousin, Natalie MacMaster, is an enormously popular entertainer.

Accompanying Andrea is singer, songwriter, story-teller, Buddy MacDonald, who first came to Almonte as on-stage host of the Cape Breton Live On Tour shows. Buddy's 30 year career has seen him perform internationally with Tommy Makem, John Allan Cameron, Ashley MacIsaac, Scotland's Dougie Maclean, and Natalie MacMaster. Buddy hosts the late night Festival Club at Cape Breton's internationally renowned Celtic Colours Festival each October. Buddy brings his wealth of songs and stories to Almonte on March 12th.

Tickets are $20.00 and available at the Almonte Legion (613-256-2142), Couple's Corner, and The Miller's Tale Bookshop, Almonte. The concert is a fundraiser for Almonte Celtfest 2008, July 10-13th in Gemmill Park and Downtown Almonte.
